Our work

Currently, the program of  ICF Community Wellbeing in Ukraine includes more than 74 projects in all regions of Ukraine (except Kharkiv and Zhytomyr) aimed at improving the wellbeing  of Ukrainian communities and implement a range of initiatives. Among those activities are holding of local and international events, conferences and seminars, with involvement of  key experts in the respective fields for spreading innovative practices, working out recommendations and promote the creation of legislation, government programs and policies favorable to the development of rural communities, business development, agricultural service cooperatives and associations.

In general, projects of ICF “Community Wellbeing” cover the following activity areas:

• Communities development and increasing the level of life among people in rural areas;
• Entrepreneurship development through supporting of agricultural service cooperatives (ASCs) and improvement of agricultural production practices in farms of  the individual farmers;
• Transformation of farms of small farmers into the family type farms, which aims to increase efficiency, increase profitability and reduce labor costs per unit area, or head of cattle.
• Development of value added chains that include creation opportunities for processing, packaging, products marketing, etc.;
• Support of the initiatives of communities on rural and ecotourism development;
• Diversification of services provided by the cooperatives by provision of consulting support, business plan development and equipping agricultural service cooperatives for further services provision;
• Women empowerment and youth support initiatives;
• Environment protection initiatives;
• Assistance to people who have suffered from disasters, either man-made or natural and support of internally displaced people;
• Development of legal initiatives, promotion of development and implementation of state programs to support small-scale farmers, advocacy for rural community interests;
• Education for the community members on animal breeding, environment protection, Heifer-Ukraine key cornerstones, products processing, marketing and sales, accounting, entrepreneurship principles, etc.
