The Monsanto Fund will allocate over 2 mln. hryvnas for creation of the educational centers for agricultural skills development
The Monsanto Fund has approved allocation of more than 80 000 USD (over 2 mln. hryvnas) for implementation of International Charitable Fund “Community Wellbeing” project in Zhytomyr and Cherkasy oblasts. The project, which won international grants competition, aims to create three agricultural skills development centers for students and pupils – on the basis of Babanka boarding school (Cherkasy oblast), Zhytomyr National Agroecological University and Uman National Horticulture University.
It is planned, that “Development of young farmers’ skills” project will better agricultural skills of schoolchildren and students, and also will teach them the basics of entrepreneurship. Reconstructed demo mini-farm for 15 cows will be opened on the basis of Zhytomyr National Agroecological University. Demo training ground for horticulture skills training will be created on the basis of Uman National Horticulture University. Reconstructed demo mini-farm for 8-10 cows will be launched on the basis of Babanka boarding school.
Trainings for teachers and demonstrative events at training grounds will be held on the basis of all educational institutions, involved into project. Methodological recommendations for students on family farms development and horticulture are going to be issued basing on the project experience. It is also planned to develop and implement special young farmer’s course for boarding school graduates.
